LEGO and Nintendo unveil the full Super Mario range

In March of this year, LEGO and Nintendo announced a unique partnership. Nintendo & LEGO designers join forces to create a new physical play experience that brings Super Mario to life in the world of LEGO. Until now it was only possible to pre-order the starter set. That is now changing. Because today the full LEGO Super Mario product range has been unveiled, with an all-new range of expansion sets, collectible character packs and power-up packs.

LEGO Super Mario
LEGO Super Mario, the unique partnership with Nintendo, lets children experience the playful world of Super Mario like never before. Super Mario is brought to life in the physical LEGO world. The products announced today give fans the chance to build Mario’s house, search for treasures hidden by Toad, and defeat a Koopa Troopa in the Guarded Fortress. And of course that’s not all!

The partnership was announced earlier this year, and the fun “Adventures with Mario Starter Set” was unveiled in April alongside two expansion sets. The starter set is the key to unlocking the entire game, and is the only set with the interactive LEGO Mario figure. The interactive LEGO Mario figure collects coins in game levels made with LEGO bricks.

LEGO Super Mario also adds new interactivity to the traditional LEGO experience. All sets have their own set of unique challenges and characters that allow fans to play alone or against friends. In addition to the expansion sets announced in April: Piranha Plantpowerslide and Boss Battle at Bowser’s Castle, the range of expansion sets also includes: Guarded Fortress, Mario’s House & Yoshi, Toad’s Treasure Hunt, Desert Pokey, Whomps Lava Fort and the Boomer Bill Barrage.

Ten collectable enemy characters have also been announced today and will be made available in “blind bag” packs. This provides an extra surprise element. Each pack includes a buildable character and an action brick to play with – it can be a Paragoomba, Fuzzy, Spiny, Buzzy Beetle, Bullet Bill, Bob-omb, Eep Cheep, Blooper, Urchin or Peepa! Each expansion set and collectible character is made to be used with the Adventures with Mario Starter Set for an enhanced playing experience.

The starter set has 7 action bricks for different interactions with the LEGO Mario figure, which has LCD screens in its eyes, mouth and belly to display instant responses to movement, color and action bricks.
