An 84-year-old Canadian finished as the oldest person ever to run a marathon in Antarctica. The elderly runner, Roy Jorgen Svenningsen ran the Antarctic Ice Marathon together with 55 riders from 17 other countries.
The three-day program (which costs 15,000 euros) consists of a flight from Punta Arenas, Chile, to the Union Glacier, Antarctica. Wherever you spend the night. A day later is the marathon. Snowmobiles have made a 42.2 kilometer route in the snow. And you will be guided by doctors, if necessary. The temperatures can be -20.
