Thousands of roses were thrown out of the air on Sunday in the UK. That happened at the war memorial in Dover. It is a tribute to the millions of deaths that occurred during the world wars and other conflicts. Those victims are commemorated every year during Remembrance Day.
The British wear the red poppy to commemorate all fallen soldiers of the First and Second World War. Including the victims of conflicts that followed. In America and Canada, too, the flower symbolizes all fallen.
